The Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex, the racquet of choice for Rafael Nadal, is an updated version from the classic AeroPro Drive. In Babolat's constant technological pursuit to provide players with an even greater amount of comfort and feel, they have combined the excellent playing characteristics of the Drive series of racquets with their new technology called the Cortex System. This technology filters out harmful vibrations that may contribute to tennis elbow without sacrificing the excellent feel and control that has made Babolat a world power in tennis equipment. The Woofer technology adds pistons to the frame that act as suspension to decrease the amount of shock that could potentially hurt the player. Like the earlier version, this racquet features the same AeroModular technology that allows for a more aerodynamic frame to increase headspeed and further increasing the power and control permitted to the user.
Cortex System:An active vibration filter customized to player level needs and acts as an interface between the handle and frame. The two parts of the racquet are actively linked by the C.D.S (Cortex Damping System) which filters and dampens vibrations interfering with feel, to enhance the feel of the ball. It is the first technology customized to filter the different types of vibrations. High frequency vibrations which interfere with feel are filtered out and only the vibrations providing feel (low frequency vibrations) are maintained.
Woofer Technology: A patented innovation by Babolat, Woofer is the first technology which makes the frame and the strings interact when striking the ball. This technology adds 25% more contact time between the ball and strings, which in turn generates more power, more control and spin, a more comfortable feel and a larger sweetspot area.
This racquet is used by Rafael Nadal.
Using his Wilson [K]Six-One 95 tennis racket, Daniel Nestor and partner Zimonjic beat their rivals, the Bryan Brothers to take the Swiss Indoors doubles title in Basel.
Nestor and Zimonjic defeated the Bryan twins 6-2, 6-3 in just 54 minutes, marking the fifth win in six meetings this year. They also improved to 8-3 lifetime against the Bryans and now own a 51-14 match record on the season.
Nestor and Zimonjic picked up 500 ATP World Tour Rankings points and split €71,500 in prize money for winning their eighth ATP World Tour title of the year.
"We were pretty much on fire from the beginning, especially Nenad he played great," said Nestor. "I kind of followed him and played well myself. It is always great playing against the Bryans; they always bring out the best in us."
The 37-year-old Nestor captured his third title in Basel and his 63rd career doubles title - the most among active players.
Daniel Nestor will be in action in Paris this week.

For many years the Palisades Tennis Center has been recognized as a training ground for of the best junior players in the country. Now, it can boast about having one of the best teachers in the nation as well.
Last weekend, HEAD/PENN Racquet Sports named PTC pro Jamey Wilson its "Pro of the Year" for 2009. Wilson received the award at the U.S. Professional Tennis Association's California Division Convention in Manhattan Beach.
Wilson holds the USPTA's highest "Professional 1" certification and is a member of HEAD/PENN's Advisory Staff.
"It was humbling to receive the award in front of my peers and great to know that what I've been doing here at the PTC has been recognized by people outside of the community," he said.
Wilson runs fully-booked weekday adult clinics, most of which have waiting lists. In 2009 Wilson also ran several special tournaments that created quite a buzz around town.
"I stopped competing some time ago so it's been a while since I've won a trophy," Wilson joked. "But I'm not going to lie--it still feels good."
Wilson competed nationally as a junior and played on an NCAA championship team at the University of San Diego. He then played pro satellites until taking a coaching position, after which he still competed part-time. While living in Hawaii he was ranked No. 1 in his age group and won the state's mixed doubles championship five years in a row.
"I've been at the PTC about 10 years now and what I like most is the energy here," he said. "The place just rocks. The players are all very passionate about tennis and it's rewarding to work with players who go all-out everyday but still know how to have fun. I've worked at award- winning clubs and resorts in the past, but nowhere have I felt the energy and enthusiasm I feel at the PTC."
